In recent years, Kajsa Balto has distinguished herself with her soulful vocal expression and strong communication skills. In 2021 she released the Christmas album "Sámi juovllat" - a long-awaited contribution to the diversity of Christmas music. The album received rave reviews, and was described as both groundbreaking and beautiful.
Kajsa is a Sami artist who grew up in Oslo, a background that has shaped her approach to Sami traditional music. Since her debut in 2017, she has written new music based on traditions from Kárášjohka, where her father comes from, and brought out joikers from her own family. In recent years, Kajsa has collaborated with, among others, the Arctic Philharmonic and the Broadcasting Orchestra, and toured at home and abroad.
